Ralph Gibson

Teach.. Dude! This guy draws me in immediately, when I first looked him up this is what I was greeted with, somehow very basic but very thought provoking and melancholic images. He knows how to push out the emotion from color, shadow, and composition. I'm absolutely enthralled and I wanna see more and figure out what makes him wanna make photos.
"His distinctive style, characterized by high-contrast abstract compositions, often transforms everyday objects into evocative narratives. Gibson's love for books and book-making is evident, with over 40 monographs published to date, including seminal works like "The Somnambulist" (1970) through his own Lustrum Press. His photographs are celebrated in over 200 museum collections globally, with over 250 solo exhibitions." Well. That makes sense! He's got an insane imagination and was also born to a film father. Makes sense!!!
I also notice he enjoys nude photos? Probably because he's born to a film father, he's used to the sexualization in movies and that influenced his photos?

I don't know why but this photo really catches me, something about the perspective? How it seems the infant has already seen something in the world that made it lose innocence. Overall a really cool photographer!
